Buying

To participate in our auctions as a bidder, you have the following options:

BID IN THE HALL:

You can take part in our auctions as a bidder in person. To do this, register with our staff at the reception desk on the day of the auction. You will then receive a bidder number.
If you are not yet registered as a customer with us, we would like to ask you to keep your identity card ready for a data comparison.

WRITTEN BID:

If it is not possible for you to participate in the auction in person, you can place a written bid with us. For this purpose, please fill in the bidding form stating the lot number and your highest bid, up to which we will then represent you during the auction undercover. You can send us your written bids either via e-mail to gebote@auktion-kendzia.de or via fax to 040 27 80 77 07 until 24 hours before the auction starts. Lot-tissimo customers can submit their bids directly via the portal. In any case, you will receive a confirmation that your bid will be considered. If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact us.
We would like to ask new customers to enclose a copy of their ID.

TELEPHONE BID:

From a starting price of 300 € you can bid by telephone. Please note on the bidding form the keyword “telephone” as well as your telephone number. Lot-tissimo customers can place their bids directly via the portal with the note “telephone bidding desired”. You can send us your telephone bids either via e-mail to gebote@auktion-kendzia.de or via fax to 040 27 80 77 07 until 24 hours before the auction starts. You will also receive a confirmation that we will take your bid into account. On the day of the auction you will then be called by one of our employees for the desired lot. We do not assume any liability for the establishment of a telephone connection. If we do not reach you, your bid is to be regarded as a written bid at the starting price.

LIVE BIDDING:

You can participate in our auction as a LIVE bidder and bid directly from your computer / tablet / smartphone via LIVE transmission.

Please note that for LIVE bidding there are additional charges of 3-5% on the surcharge, as this is an external service.

PREMIUM

A commission of 16% (plus 19% VAT) is due for each surcharge. The total premium is 19,04%.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

After successful participation in our auction, you will receive your invoice within 5 working days. The invoice amount must be paid within 10 days of the invoice date.
Payment by credit card or PayPal is possible after arrangement.

SHIPPING/TRANSPORT:

We will gladly assist you in shipping and transporting your auctioned goods.
As an additional service we offer shipping through our auction house. For the packing by our experienced employees as well as the shipping with DHL, we raise a flat-rate, which is calculated according to weight, size and expenditure of the packing. The decision about what can be sent by post is up to us.
The flat-rate for shipping is usually shown on your invoice.
Please note that we cannot ship furniture, large, valuable or fragile items with DHL.
In these cases we refer you to our competent shipping partners and forwarders, whose contact details you will find in our transport list. We also reserve the right to refer you to our shipping partners when shipping to countries outside the EU.

STATUS REQUESTS:

Please refer to the descriptions and numerous illustrations in our online catalogue for the condition of the respective objects.

About Us

The auction house Kendzia, which emerged from an antique trade that had existed since the 1920s, has enriched the Hamburg auction landscape since 1971. The founders Klaus D. and Brigitte Kendzia have built up an excellent reputation in this sector over the decades of their activity.

Today the house is run by the publicly appointed and sworn auctioneer, appraiser and art expert Eva-Maria Uebach-Kendzia. After studying art history, cultural anthropology and museum management in Hamburg and Vienna, she joined her parents’ business in 1997. She and her husband Karl Uebach have been running the auction house since 2016 with a great deal of expertise and competence. The family-run house is characterised by utmost discretion, solidity and flexibility.
